Sunscreen you wear
UPF 50+ fabric that blocks 98% of UVA and UVB rays. No white cast, no two-hour reapply timer, no tan lines you didn't ask for.

Manifesto
Not for everyone. Built for those who move.
NOT/FOR THEM makes premium UPF apparel for people who embrace the outdoors — the early runners, the rooftop lifters, the ones still out at UV index 11. Every piece is engineered at the loom, not finished with a spray, so protection stays as permanent as the garment itself.

Built around the light
Train covered
Full coverage that doesn't cook you
Sunlight pours through gym windows all afternoon — UVA passes straight through glass. Our long-sleeve training layer breathes at 0.4 mm thick, wicks sweat off the skin and keeps covered arms measurably cooler than exposed ones under direct light.
- Cooling yarn drops surface temp as you sweat
- Flatlock seams — no chafe under a bar or pack
- Thumbholes and half-hood for full hand and neck cover
Covered, in full sun
Rooftop, coast, canyon — midday UV index 9+, zero exposed skin, zero reapplication.
Cool facts
Six things about sun-protective clothing you probably didn't know
UPF 50+ blocks 98% of UV
A UPF 50+ fabric lets less than 1/50th of UV radiation reach your skin. A plain white cotton tee is closer to UPF 5 — and drops further when it gets wet.
It never needs reapplying
Lotion breaks down in about two hours, faster with sweat. Fabric protection doesn't expire mid-workout, so a long session is one decision instead of four.
Sweat makes it work harder
Our weave wicks moisture and drops surface temperature as it evaporates — so covered skin often runs cooler than bare skin in direct sun.
Protection is woven, not coated
The UV block comes from yarn density and construction, not a chemical finish. It survives 50+ washes without fading in performance.
Clouds are not sunscreen
Up to 80% of UV passes straight through cloud cover, and UVA goes through window glass. Indoor-adjacent training still adds up.
Better for reefs, too
Every sleeve you cover is lotion you don't rinse into the water. Fewer chemicals on skin, fewer in the ocean.
Tanning is skin damage with a filter on it
UVB burns the surface. UVA drives deeper, wrecking collagen and elastin long before you feel anything. Neither one gives you a "safe glow".
0
safe amount of tanning
A tan is your DNA responding to damage. Melanin rises because cells were already injured — there is no 'healthy base tan'.
5×
melanoma risk from sunburn
Five or more sunburns can roughly double melanoma risk, and even a single blistering burn in youth raises it significantly.
80%
of visible ageing is UV
Most fine lines, leathery texture and uneven pigment on exposed skin trace back to cumulative UVA — not to age.
20 min
to start damage
On a high-UV-index day, unprotected skin can begin taking damage in under twenty minutes. Commutes and warm-ups count.
